Jane Laws
Centre Manager
After working in North Lincolnshire for five years as a class teacher, Jane was promoted to the post of ICT Curriculum Support Teacher for the Local Education Authority. This saw her supporting teachers with teaching and learning through ICT.
The Centre benefits tremendously from her excellent ICT skills, her keen enthusiasm and love for the game of football. Jane also sits on the Study United FC Steering Group.Her weekends are spent supporting partner Brian and the players from the terraces.

Sandra Hill
Operational Support
Sandra has supported the centre in all areas of Operational Support from budget monitoring to sponsorship, marketing and publicity. Previously Sandra was Manager of a local travel agency. Whilst there she developed excellent leadership and customer care skills, areas which she now brings to her current post at Study United.
For 15 years she has also taken on the role of volunteer at a local youth organization. Sandra's husband Rob is also always on hand to lend support in the activities at Study United.
Sandra's interests are computers, digital photography and partying!
Cheryl Prestwood
Centre Teacher
After a gaining a degree in BA hons in Applied Social Science at University of Lincolnshire and Humberside, Cheryl embarked on a teaching career via the Graduate Teacher route. She has spent 5 years as a teacher working for the local authority. She has worked at South Ferriby, New Holland and Scawby Primary school. Cheryl is putting into practice all her skills developed in these schools to make the Study Centre a fun and exciting learning experience.
When not teaching, Cheryl can be found on the hockey pitch playing for Brigg ladies Hockey Club.
Michael Ogle
Centre Teacher
Michael joined us in September 2007. After gaining a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Geography at the University of Manchester, he spent 3 years on a post-graduate Climate change research project prior to completing a PGCE teaching qualification at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Since then he has taught geography and history at secondary school level and transferred to teaching at primary schools in 2001. He has worked for the last 3 years within the authority at Grange Lane Junior School. Michael believes that a child’s experience of Study Support has to be exciting, stimulating and challenging in order to engage them in and to enthuse them about learning for life.
In ‘normal’ life Michael is very involved in sport. He participates in road/mountain biking and Adventure Racing as a competitor and is also a road and time trial cycle coach with the British Cycling Federation.
Rob Jefferson
Content Development & IT Manager
Rob has applied his skills to many areas at Study United. He describes his post as "the dream job, football and computers - what could be better!". His talent for multimedia authoring will enable all of the centre's users to work in an exciting, innovative and interactive ICT environment. Rob will lead on a number of projects including the development of online learning packages, this very website and handles alot of Study United's marketing.
Before working at Study United, Rob was a Bakery Manager for Tesco and prior to that worked in IT Retail for two years. In his free time he regularly supports the Iron and when not at the football, he can be found in the pub!

Sue Moulds
Mentor & Study Supporter
After 30 years in the travel industry Sue opted for a change of career. She has graduated from the University of Lincoln with a BA (Hons.) English and History degree and has now focused her attention on education. She has worked in a supporting role at a local primary school and has seen first hand the benefits that the Study Centre can offer. She has taken on the Heading for Success sessions, a joint project with the Learning Support Unit aimed at keeping year 11 students engaged with their study. Sue commented: "The more I heard about Study United FC, the more I realised that it was something that I would like to be a part of."
Sue is a crack shot at Ten Pin Bowling, successfuly winning the Study United FC "Booby Prize" Bag of Sprouts® for the lowest score at a social event last year. However, she spent time honing her skills under the coaching of Mark Dowson and recently achieved a game winning 100. Well done Sue!
Brian Ayre
Mentor
Brian has a similar role to Sue, educating young people on a one-to-one basis. He started with us in November 2007 working on a casual basis.
Colin Mather
Driver & Study Supporter
Experienced in a range of youth activities, including cub, scouts and ex-chairman of Messingham Junior Football Club, Colin is a valuable member of the team whose supportive and patient nature encourages the development and self-esteem of the students.
Colin is a keen supporter of The Iron and commented: "I find working at Study United very rewarding and exciting and there is a very good team spirit shared by all those who are involved in the different programmes".
Wayne "Bamber" Johnson
Football in the Community
Learning Mentor
After a successful spell with a Football in the Community administration post, Wayne was given the chance to learn how to coach football to children in local primary schools. He then went and gained his coaching certificate and is currently training towards becoming a UEFA B Coaching License qualified coach. Wayne is now the assisatant Football in the Community Officer and is involved with organising activities for children across the region.
Wayne's involvment with Study United has seen him partner Sue in various different learning programmes and he has been part of the team for nearly two years now.
For leisure and pleasure "Bamber's" interests include football (Spurs Fan as well as Scunthorpe United!), cricket, tennis, swimming, reading, listening to music and socialising with friends.

Lee Turnbull
Scunthorpe United F.C.
Community Projects Manager
Lee is well known in North Lincolnshire for the good work he carries out for Scunthorpe United Football in the Community. He has been instrumental in setting up, delivering and evaluating a range of courses for young people. Some of these include holiday programmes, school soccer sessions, birthday parties at Glanford Park and more recently the Fit for Football scheme and Healthy Schools Programme. Lee is a fully qualified 'A' Licence Coach.
