NB. There is no number 13 in a football team as it is considered unlucky!

INTRODUCTION

The Playing for Success activities are aimed at raising the quality of life of the young people who live in the area. The learning programmes place a strong emphasis on developing Maths, English and ICT skills as well as improving attitudes to learning and motivation. All of which contribute to increased levels of confidence and self-esteem, to give a real boost and sense of achievement.

When you have read through the modules choose four modules for your PFS curriculum for a six week course.

*The first session is the Ground Tour and the final Week Celebration is where children recieve their certificates and a healthy celebration meal, currently provided by the Scunthrope ASDA Supermarkets.

Whilst many schools feel the Generic Modules meet the needs of their youngsters, they can also be customised to meet a particular schools needs.

Example

One school asked us to focus on their Year 5 Literacy target of using conjunctions in their sentences.
We adapted MODULE 2 - Making a Ground Tour Movie and allowed the children to develop their writing skills in the creation of titles to go with their Movie.
