Crosby Park Project reaches Glanford Park
6th February 2006
In partnership with a local secondary school – Foxhills Technology College, Scunthorpe we ran a 5 week pilot family learning experience. Eight family groups have taken part in "Playing for Success on Tour" based in-school rather than with us at the Centre. They have been cutting, sticking and putting together all sorts of different creations. 3D family trees, colourful family crests and pop-up greetings cards were just a few examples of what were made.
The sessions were also an opportunity to trial some new software devised by Study United FC’s Teacher Mark Dowson with the digital authoring assitance of Rob Jefferson, Content Development Manager. The final session of the Crosby Park Project ended with a celebration session here at Glanford Park, giving the learners a chance to experience first hand what being at the club is really like. Here are some photos from the night:
The bus has a cool silver livery with bright, contemporary colours. Four workstations are fully equipped with cookers, sinks, microwaves, equipment and utensils. When the learners have finished cooking they can lay the table and sit down together to eat the food they have prepared.
