The Cooking Bus Visits Glanford Park

February 1st 2006

Yorkshire & Humberside’s very own Cooking Bus, a hi-tech mobile kitchen that travels to schools in the region so that teachers and youngsters with limited or no facilities of their own, can learn cooking skills. It has spent a week at Glanford Park delivering training to local primary and secondary school teachers.

One night pupils from South Axholme Secondary School were given the chance to to experience first hand what the fantastic vehicle has to offer. The children were also joined by two of the Iron’s first-teamers- Tom Evans and Lee Ridley:

The bus has a cool silver livery with bright, contemporary colours.  Four workstations are fully equipped with cookers, sinks, microwaves, equipment and utensils.  When the learners have finished cooking they can lay the table and sit down together to eat the food they have prepared.
